A large amount of narcotics were found during a traffic stop in the early morning hours on 05/18/2023. The stop on I-15 near Leeds began due to illegal window tint seen by deputies. While processing the driver’s information as standard procedure, a K9 with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office conducted a free air sniff around the vehicle, alerting to the odor of narcotics. Deputies then searched the vehicle and located over seven pounds of suspected fentanyl. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office continues to work hard to combat the high level of drugs being trafficked through our County.
